Love for this gemstone dates back to the ancient Egyptian’s where they called the Peridot a“The Gem of the sun”. The ancient Egyptians would mine these gemstones and present them to their pharaohs, the pharaohs would use these stones to ward off evil Peridot is also believed to possess healing powers and have been known to cure asthma, anxiety and other illnesses.

Peridot is one of the softest of all the precious gems.

Locations Found

The bulk of this gemstone is mined in Arizona but many mines exist In Burma, China, Vietnam and other parts of the USA.
